The Goldsmiths' Company Apprenticeship Scheme

For the first time in history, The Goldsmiths' Company has extended its apprenticeships to the Midlands, and we're proud to have two members of the Weston Beamor group on the programme.

The Goldsmiths' Company offers training to develop the next generation of jewellers and to keep the huge array of specialised skillsets alive in the industry.

2022 has seen The Goldsmiths' Company extend the apprenticeship programmes outside of London and the South-East to the Midlands.

Here at the Weston Beamor group, we strive to grow careers and enhance the craftmanship of our employees; the apprenticeship programme means that two of our team, Kai and Sofie, are able to further their diamond setting expertise.

'I'm incredibly proud of both of our apprentices and feel that this is a wonderful opportunity for them. It's a privilege to have Weston Beamor/Domino Jewellery amongst the initial companies chosen to be involved with the Goldsmiths' Company apprentice scheme outside of London.' - Andrew J. Morton, Managing Director of the Weston Beamor Group.

Our Apprentices

On the 19th October 2022, Kai and Sofie embarked on their apprenticeship journey with their mentors, Andrew J. Morton and Naomi Newton-Sherlock with the age old tradition of the binding ceremony.

Upon completion, Kai and Sofie will be made 'Free of the Goldsmiths' Company' and qualify with a 'City & Guilds Professional Recognition Award.'

'It's an absolute pleasure to be bound to Sofie as her mentor as she navigates her way through the apprenticeship programme and be part of her personal journey as she grows her skillset in the jewellery sector. It's a wonderful opportunity for the next generation of jewellers to boost their personal development' - Naomi Newton-Sherlock, Creative Director at Domino Jewellery & Weston Beamor.

Our two apprentices currently work as micro-setters, and are looking forward to further develop their skills.

'To have earnt a place as an apprentice for the Goldsmiths' Company fills me with pride and joy. I must thank all companies involved for the chance to apply myself and challenge my skills.' - Kai
